Does any one know would adding a few drops of bleach be ok for the chickens? Basicaly...
Yeah I am going to see if I want to go to a 15 gallon barrel for water or keep the 5 gallon bucket. Then I will make a cover and stand for it as I don't like the 4 cinder blocks its on now lol. I got a good amount of scrap and will have more after I build a fence.
I just had to do something...
Yeah if we get any ill have to cover it some how. I live in northern CA and more than likely won't see more than a sprinkle tell October. When I take it off for paint I'll make little awning roofs to cover them.
Have been busy being pulled in like 12 different directions finally got the auto feeder and water done at least for now. I'll redo the wood supports and paint them when it's cooler and I have more time. Still have a long list of to-do's but some things are more important than others. The girls...
Have not done much the last sew days been working and doing other things the girls have been enjoying the run. Along with all the new treats in the yard. Im waiting on the predator apron fence. As well as a truck to get the plywood for the roof.

Looks like I need to make that new roosting bar and ramp sooner than I thought. This is there roost of choice. The only thing I did today is put the hardware cloth on the bottom of the coop and door. But that was the big thing holding them up from comming out side. They got some out side time...
I have a 2x4 every 2 feet so one would start a peice the middle one was only for over all suport of both the coop and the wire. Then the 3rd 2x4 would give an ending spot for the first peice and a starting spot for the next one.
First picture is of how they meet on the middle post
Second...
NO hardware cloth is not the easiest to work with! I got a 4 foot wide roll knowing a lot of my walls would be 8 foot. I wish I would have gone with 2 foot wide. It is kind of hard just working with something so large and I did not have a single peice with out a little extra wave in it.
On...
Spent way more time than I should have making and attaching the human door. Got all the big pieces of hardware cloth attached I just need to put some on the doors and the long side at back under the coop. I may need to make a brace a 6 foot run of hardware cloth may be vulnerable to predators...
I finished painting the run other than a few small touch up spots. I started attaching hardware cloth to the run its slow going im doing 1" screws every 6 inch at max some spots a lot closer I was going for feel over looks. I hope to be able to let them in to the run tomorrow I have had a few...
Well I spent part of the day shortening the side walls after making them to tall lol.
It was fairly easy to make the walls it was just framing them. The side walls are 8 foot with a 2x4 every 2 feet on center. The door end is 6 foot wide and I made a 2 foot wide door maybe should have done 3...
