    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. I just got a nurture right 360 actually, and it is my first time using it with shipped eggs. I'd totally recommend putting them point side down in egg cartons for the first 2-3 days, that's what I did. And letting them rest 24 hours prior to incubation so the eggs...

    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

Hello, I just have one question about shipped eggs, For the first three days, when you say you don't turn them, that means no turning at all, right? (like not even manually turning the eggs?) Just leave them like that ? Sorry, I know this question might be late, but my first attempt at...

    Father of Five (Silkies!)

What was your experience like ordering from the dunham farm? I am considering ordering from them but I am a bit skeptical about it, it just seems a bit suspicious.

Shipped eggs, severely detached air cells, first time incubation, SUCCESSFUL HATCH!!!!

How many times a day did you tilt them ? I have 10 eggs and they all have saddle shaped air cells, I don't think they're detached tho. They didn't move at all. They're on day 5 or 6. Currently have them on their sides being rotated every hour (automatic). I honestly don't know what to do, there...

!help! Eggs wity detached air cells at day 5

Just candled my shipped silkie eggs , they're on day 5 but only one seems to be fertile and the rest are questionable. The one fertile (that seems alive) has a saddle shaped air cell but it is not moving. All the other eggs have detached air cells. I rested them for 8-9 hours and began turning...

    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

I placed them all in the incubator, candled them before and they all seem in good shape. I put 10 in and I'm not expecting no more or less to hatch, it's up to the eggs 😊 Even tho i really hope a few do decide to hatch 😅

    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

I agree! Especially in hotter weather. how long do you think eggs with detached air cells should rest? Also, the eggs will be 4-5 days old when I recieve them that is a lot to take in 😅but very helpful advice, thank you! It sounds intimidating but exciting at the same time, even though i'm...

    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

Thank you for the response! 😊 The eggs are coming from Florida to Texas, so that is why i've decided to put them straight in the incubator. They may also be around 4-5 days old when I get them. Also, do you suggest I place all of them in a upright position pointy side down for the first three...

    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

Thank you so much for the info! I actually ordered silkie eggs, and they are coming from Florida to Texas That's interesting, is there a particular way to hatch silkie eggs ? This will be my first time hatching this breed too, and I would love to have at least 3 or 4 hatch ! They have been my...

    Resting shipped eggs before incubation?

Would it be okay to put eggs in the bator right after receiving them, and of course putting the ones w detached air cells in a upright position, and with no turner? I don't see the point in letting them "rest" if they are all ready at room temp when I get them. Can someone explain why they have...

!emergency! Lockdown day 16 or 17? (Chicken eggs)

I understand! I hadn't planned to hatch just one, but it happened.. I definitely agree that they need some friends. I am home everyday so I will constantly be keeping it company. I may get another chick if they have some at our local feed store. 😊
