We had a farm in Nebraska, where I raised chickens, turkeys and guineas...along with cattle and sheep.
Now that we are retired, we have a small acreage with 2 horses and are in the process of building a chicken coop and run. Planning on having 8 hens, sadly our area won’t allow roosters unless you have them altered so they can’t crow, which I think is cruel.
I have been reading blogs on other people raising chickens in hot climates. It seems challenging so I hope we have found a few good solutions. I will be checking out other postings for ideas.
