Thanks! They’re free to anyone who can pick them up in Douglasville this weekend and promises to hatch them. They shipped Monday from a big farm in the NE and arrived today at noon. I immediately unboxed them (packaged very securely, by the way), and they’ve been resting ever since. Planning to...
Thanks! I’m a newbie but have read a lot of your replies and actually remembered where you were from upon seeing your screen name! I’ll find a way to hatch these if someone else can’t pick them up this weekend. I’m already in love with this...even started a meal worm farm for them and this...
Thanks! I’m slammed at work and haven’t strayed more than 4 miles from my house since mid-March. I’ll gladly give them to someone who can pick them up in Douglasville this weekend. Otherwise, I’ll find a way to incubate them. I can’t let these future birds go to waste.
Thanks! I’m new to this forum and new to hatching quail (watched my grandfather do it 40 years ago). So I’m happy to connect with locals. I’d gladly give someone these eggs. I’ll PM CluckNDoodle.
Thanks. The styrofoam is perfect, but there’s no power. I’d need to heat it and regulate that heat somehow. I’m currently watching YouTube videos but am not yet comfortable in holding it at a steady 100° and know that temperature fluctuation is the worst thing for the chicks in incubation. (I...
Thanks. I would gladly give them to someone who is going to hatch them. I posted a Craigslist ad but am not very hopeful of someone coming to get them. They were shipped Monday, so I have a week or so to re-home them probably...but would like to decide soon.
I ordered 110 Jumbo Pharaoh Hatching Eggs and received 220. (Seller sent double after weeks of shipping delays...but didn’t give me a head’s up.) My Genesis Hova-Bator 1588 can only handle 120 eggs.
What to do with 100 extra hatching eggs? Tried to buy another incubator locally. Sold out...
MJ8: Good to hear! While our first quail eggs are incubating, we’ve started farming meal worms for them. (Oddly, I’ve spent about as much time watching videos about meal worm farming as I have about raising quail.) Do you have suggestions regarding (1) how old the quail need to be to begin...
1. I suggest avoiding the Bobwhites at first. They’re more difficult to raise and take longer to reach maturity and to begin laying.
2. I’m new to this also but found HatchPoultry.com to have the best prices online for fertile eggs. (A veteran on this forum can set me straight or let me know if...
