    Hi im on my 5th cortex hatching for the year. Its been great fun seeing the little guys go from hatch to full grown, but i do not have much room inside the house and the kids would like their room back.... the only building i have access to out side is a metal shed that gets ten or more hotter...

    From what i have been told exposure to light has a lot to do with yoke coloration. A friend used to work in a feed mill, and they added a dye to their chicken feed to make the yokes a darker yellow. Egg factories have the chickens inside with no exposure to sun.     When can't you fry them

    Hi i just started preparing quail about the time yours hatched... The first way i prepared them was sooo good... i found the recipe on youtube.. they use bob white quail... but will work for any breed of quail it called oven fried quail. ... another video i watched on there gave me the idea...

    roosters head tore up

    Ive heard that hens stay fertile for 7 day after... ive had the same problem... i put a roo in a few days after and they did it again.... i ended up leaving them alone for 3 weeks and added in a new roo... no problems for a couple months now.

    Lotsa dying quail.

    How old are they? i have started leaving them in the incubator for a couple days before i put them in the brooder.. they never seem to do good if i move them over earlyer... sorry to hear of your troubles.. steve e Madison co iowa

    Hi i was wondering if any one has pressure canned quail? I will be putting up 40 or so this fall, and do not want to freeze all of them, for space reasons. I have 2 questions the first id like to I make sure 11l lbs for 75min for pints, and 90min for quarts is the correct time and pressure...

    Thanks that is what i figured ... just the wait for egg production to go back up has been frustrating. ... just checked and have a couple more eggs than i have been getting... hopefully numbers are back on the way up... thanks again for the help steve e

    Hi i have Cortex quail that are about 6 months old... i had been averaging one egg per layer each day for months, while birds where inside in cages... I finally finished my outside pen for them and put them out last Monday.. my egg production went from one egg per bird, to one egg for all 6...
