Yes I am loosing track of threads! Now there are 15 eggs and she is not spending time sitting on them. what should I do, take them out or just leave them? If I take them out are they ok to eat?
She has about 12 eggs all are in a pile but 1, I have not seen her sit on them very much. this is the first time I have a rooster so I dont know what is normal
I have one coop with a rooster and a hen, she has laid about 12 eggs, and it does not seem that she sits on them very much its been about 12 days, how do I now if she will hatch them herself or should I just take them out? They are all but one in a nest that she made of hay in the coop. please...
I have 4 barred rock laying hens about 1.5 years old, and a barred rock rooster about 6 months old. Currently they are in different coops (rooster is by himself). My question is how can I get the rooster to mate a hen and make some chicks?
the hen that is in with the 6 roosters, hatched around Christmas. I think I will put the barred rock rooster (6 mo old) in with the laying barred rock hens (1 year old).

All was fine in the coop this afternoon, I went out to the coop and only 4 hens in the run (they are all Plymouth Rocks, so they all look alike) 1 of them was up stairs in the coop dead. last night we had a storm wind a rain. I didn't notice any of them "acting" any differently, sick or weird...
