    The Aerie Chicken Project

Cool-looking drawing, but know that you're embarking on something that would probably take at least 15 or 20 years to achieve. There are a lot of 'project birds' out there where one bird may represent the ideal of the imagined breed but the genetics are not stabilized to reliably produce copies...

    A Bielefelder Thread !

Actually, this is completely untrue. Each year our breeding stock is critically evaluated for strengths and weaknesses, and only the best breeding stock is carried forward into the breeding program. Fewer than 5% of the males make the cut. We have our stock evaluated by APA judges to help in...

    Altsteirer

We imported them and here's what stands out about them: they are very hardy, and the hens lay a ton of eggs. Very productive ancient crested breed; so much so that it's a running joke on our farm about how many eggs we get out of the Altsteirer pen each day. You never know exactly what you'll...

Fun thread...What is the rarest / coolest breed of chicken you have or know of

The Swedish Orust. Super rare, great color patterns on feathers and legs.

Cold weather lightweight autosexing egg machine

Yes, several people have them in Canada. Google search Bulbs of Fire and you can see one source. And yes, they're meaty. But, great egg layers, too. You will not be disappointed.
