Well, not super smooth but not frizzled either. There are two birds that came out like this. Looks like they’ve had a soft body wave perm. Just the feathers from neck and back/shoulders. They are 7 weeks now and continue to watch how they are feathering out. They’ve got medium size crest now...

LOL the beginning of their breeding tolbunts. Yes he is incredible looking! That’s why he is currently still here. Technically I’m not supposed to have roosters but his cockadoodledoo is quieter than my hens’ egg song. His name was changed from Cruella to Einstein after his first crow.
This fella was supposed to be a Tolbut Polish pullet. But HE doesn’t look like a typical Tolbunt. Would you say the better description is a white crested red laced blue polish rooster? And that’s a mouth full!
