    I’ll have her check her crop in the morning make sure it’s empty. I’d say it feels normal? As far as I know, not overly squishy but not hard. Not super full either, but we have noticed she isn’t eating as much.

    There is free choice grit and oyster shell each in separate dishes from each other and food

    Commercial chicken pellets free choice for food, and a small pie tin of veggies or scratch in the evenings as a treat split between 10 chickens.

    Breed of drakes?

    Any idea what breed these drakes are? They came from an assorted duckling bin, from Hoovers hatchery. The one with the lighter grey body has purple on his wing and the dark browner one has blue, he also has a greener head in the sunlight.

    no I have never noticed it go dark/ purple before today, I kinda figured it was a lack of oxygen causing that color.

    I can get antibiotics from a vet, but even the large animal vets around here don’t really see chickens. Over the last four years I’ve had some runny noses and sneezes here or there, but nothing that the whole flock seemed to get. I haven’t heard of Newcastles around here but I could be for sure...
