    -21F coldest temp inside coop. no heat Just a timed light from 6am to 6pm. little scratch grain for extra energy every day.

    just looked up and saw a dog running off with one of our layers. "Old Houdini" was going on three years old. she got her name by getting away form a young Lynx that lost interest after catching her. hope the owners leave the ribbon on it's coller.

    Has anyone used a remote wireless thermometer over a long distance? My coop is about 75 yds from the house. I'm looking to find a way to monitor the temp inside the coop at the house. all the remote indoor/outdoor i've tried don't have the range needed. any success out there?

    Our Maltese is great around our chickens. They re even teaching him a thing or two about finding treats thrown in the yard. Ever see a chicken and a dog fight over a bone? One on one the dog usally wins. But as with humans, two women outflank a guy every time.
