i came across alot of railroad ties for free. they are 6" x 8" x 6'. does anyone know if there is a reason why i shoud not use them for the post in the run. over kill i know but they are free!!! the run will be 48' x 20' and the other run will be 36' x 10'. ty for the help
im thinking with 4 coops i was going to do 4 diff types: Rhode Island Reds, Buff Oripingtons, Ameraucanas, and Danish Brown Leghorns. maybe some Silver Lace Wyandottes... wait O heck i want them all. 6 RIRs and ive already got the fever!!! pics of the 4 coops coming soon
if it is raccoons that your worried about i would use some of the wire over the glass on the doors. so even if a raccoon breaks the glass they would still have to deal with the wire. it sounds like you have a strong frame that you could staple the wire to. also if you took out one of the bottom...
