Don't know what breed or gender you have? Click here!

This little one was given to me when I was looking for a couple of barnyard mixes for a broody to adopt. The woman told me it was an Aracauna/Welsummer cross. I assume she actually had an Easter Egger (not an Aracauna). Well, this little one is super slow feathering compared to the other two...

    BYC members in Massachusetts?

I'm in North Central Mass, and I'm looking for some hatching eggs. Maybe only 2? I have two broody sister hens who will not give up. I don't need anymore chickens, but I'm thinking hatching some eggs will be the only thing to break them. Anyone nearby have some I could buy? I'd prefer olive...

Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

It's tricky, because the "rules" are there because they are *almost* always right. We can't know exactly what's happening with their genetics, just what is likely to happen! Good luck!!!

Yeah! She's just a bit of an anomaly! Her dad has that same comb. My husband says it looks like Worf from Star Trek I was told dad hatched from a blue egg, and I know she hatched from a a mint green egg, so I was surprised we still got hers as a pale brown. I knew it could happen, but I was...

I just wanted to give an update on my babies! Scarlet laid hey first egg yesterday! She had EVERY sign that we expect to see in a young EE cockerel. Except that she always 'looked' like a pullet...BUT early on she had a wide, pinking comb, and red patches on her silver wings. Every thing I read...

Thanks, again junebuggena! Do you say this because of Scarlet's wide comb? That has definitely been throwing me! It just isn't even pink yet, which is also throwing me...

Okay! Here are my four babies...almost nine weeks now. I posted about them before. They all have the same daddy, a white and black EE. The two on the right have the same EE mom. The white one on the left was hatched from a SLW hen, and the white cockerel in the middle (Fabio) came from a Golden...

Thanks! I guess I'll just keep watching! The other roosters I raised were very red faced and obvious at four weeks. I'm so confused by these two Hopefully I'll know sooner than when egg laying starts in the spring!

I have some six week old babies. Two are colored and patterned to suggest they are boys, but their combs are completely yellow. Another one has a very pink comb, and has always been an obvious boy. What age would you accept the comb as the definitive sign?
