I definitely have not had any significant number of deaths in the flock before or after the arrival of the Bredas. So I'm still thinking it came in with the Bredas.
Okay, so I think I understand you to say that my Cuckoos and Ameraucanas most likely have the disease, and that although they have shown no signs of it that they in fact may have infected the Bredas when they arrived ???? Well, that is entirely different from the scenario I had imagined, which...
No, my Marans and Ameraucanas are not vaccinated. They've been here for quite a few years now. I just do not know what possessed me to introduce those Bredas. Well, I do: I had hatched some BB eggs (from Dick Horstman) and only one girl made it, I couldn't get more eggs from DH, so I went...
Wow I am embarrassed and pissed too. A few years ago now I got a dozen+ Black Breda chicks from Waltz's Ark Ranch. They were so gorgeous. But soon they started dying. Why I never considered Marek's, I don't know, but I didn't. I've got Cuckoo Marans and Ameraucanas and these BB's were all...
No.
Spring for Redwood if you want lumber that will last and won't poison you. Also PT has a tendency to splinter and is generally unpleasant to work with.
My eggs will be landing at the gate any hour now.
But since I'm waiting I am looking around and found yet another very cool article about these chickens.

Thanks
For me, the link does not work AT ALL. It doesn't go to a page that says the item is no longer available. Nothing happens. But....it is not important enough to fret any more about.
I am using Mozilla, and that link went very nicely to my member page, which is probably what it was supposed to be.
So, I wasn't clear enough: it's links to outside, links to listings on Amazon most specifically and most recently.
Sorry I didn't give you enough information in my original question
How about a list of heating pads that members have found that work....heating pads WITHOUT an automatic shut off feature?
This one probably works for that aspect, but I found that the plug mechanism to be in the way...
I've used the Hovabator Genesis with the automatic turner multiple times over the past several years and never had any trouble with it. You have to pay attention, read the directions, monitor the water, etc., but if you do your job, it does its job.
Cutler always seems to have the best price...
