cool, she has 7 chicks.. they were in a box that they could nt get out of so we let her and the babes out to wander while we cleaned the box, she took off with them in the chicken run Hope she does a good job with them they are all from different hens so it is a really cute brood
so Today, she is just proud as punch with 6 little ones running around her box, she is still sitting on tons of eggs. although she pushed 4 eggs to the side . found one casualty today, a little one still wet with the yolk sak still there very strange.
heehee, crazy chickens.. so we have her in a huge comfy box now, with the 3 chicks she is protecting, I see or saw at least 3 more hatching out, we put all the eggs from the top nest (the one she had been on) down in the big box with her and she pulled them all under her YAY.. I dont know...

we have found 2 baby chicks., one up in the nest with one hen and a bunch of other eggs
and one on the ground being protected by another hen.. just wondering, should we touch or help or do anything, we have like 20 free range chickens and a rooster, and never had them hatch any before
Thx Chicken Mom, I'm just trying to find out all the rules on buying the hen or rooster, like when to buy it, at what age it should be bought. because I noticed that they are supposed to over a year old at the show..

Yup, I agree with Pullet. we just went through that last year with three of them. I thought they were roosters but turns out my 11 year old was right they just have big tail feathers
