    8 week old chicks

    When can I safely turn the baby chicks in with the grown chickens so they can have the run of the coop & the outdoor pen. I was going to set it up so they could get into a "safe" area & to their food ( which is different from the grown chickens).

    Who says cedar is bad for chickens???

    Thanks all. I guess I won't use cedar or cyprus shavings! I have just been using the same shavings that I use in the barn for my horses. I just liked the smell & the fact that cedar repels bugs but I guess that's out.
