Hello!
I have a few polish growing up, including a SL rooster, and both SL and GL hens. What colors would come from a SL roo over a GL hen? Is the same true for other breeds such as Wyandottes?
Thanks for the help!
Hey guys! I'm in Oak View too! Been working on Faverolles, Silkies, Polish, and Marans. Having sooo much fun breeding! We should do a chicken meet-up sometime!
If you're still looking for birds, we've been hatching and selling some. Located in Oak View. (15 min from Ventura) feel free to give me a call if you still need birds! 909-320-0540
I have a gold laced polish about 3 months old. It's crest is starting to tip to one side, making it hard to see out that eye. The skin is actually sitting more heavy on that side. Is that normal? I don't want to cut the feathers if I can help it (we sell the chicks and having a full grown...
My rooster, Bernanke.
We actually have 4, with 30 hens. 2 aren't old enough to crow or jump on the girls yet. Working on some breeding groups right now! We put the two crowing roosters in the garage at night. Keeps peace with our neighbors, and I get to sleep in. Life is good with our roosters. :)
Okay, so I've had this hen, Tikka, a sexlink mix. She's really had a rough go of the broody thing. I would love for it to work, but if it turns out she just sucks at being broody, I'm not gonna keep trying.
Broody Time #1
I left her in one of the nesting boxes, where the other hens lay...

Okay, so I need some advice! I have 4 quail, 2 bobwhite and 2 coturnix. They are probably 6 weeks old? Not laying yet, but not babies anymore.. I can't remember exactly how long i've had them. I think the bobwhite are both boys and the coturnix are both girls. (Could have that backwards though)...
Have you guys seen this before?
His feathers cause the skin to fall on top of the right eye, and he's got a pretty bad eye infection. I have some drops from a vet, and I cut back the feathers, any other ideas of what I can do?
This is what I'm dealing with. :/ we just adopted this boy, and he's got a major eye infection. I've got drops from the previous owner, and I cut back his crest pretty dramatically because it was heavy on the one side and pushing skin into his eye. Is there more I can do??
I had this problem with some birds I adopted. They just would not sleep on the roosting sticks, even though all the other birds would. Wanted to sleep in the nesting boxes, super annoying. :/ makes it all poopy!
Anyway, what I did, was to start going out after dark and actually picking them up...
I am having a HORRIBLE time with my incubator. I don't know if it's cause of the summer, but I can't control how much the temperature fluctuates in my house! I try desperately to keep it right at 100, and it's down to 95 in the morning when I wake up and 102 when I get home from work in the...
