I'd be interested in some buff silkie chicks. Do you happen to have any hatching around the week of September 5th? I have some silkie eggs in the bator that will be hatching then, and I would like to get chicks around the same age as those ones if possible.
I might be interested in some new silkie chicks soon. Some of my breeding hens and roosters are getting a bit old and need to go to the silkie retirement coop, so I've been looking around. What colors do you raise? Where are your lines from?
It is unlikely that the chicks' movement would upset the other eggs so much so as to render 21 of them unable to hatch, so my guess is that something else might have happened. That being said, I usually remove chicks (in groups, not one at a time) when they are fully dry and no other chicks are...
If you are looking for nice Silkie eggs, then check out ebay. There are a lot of good sellers on there who have eggs from quality birds. Just make sure to do your homework in terms of knowing the SOP for Silkies. Plenty of sellers claim their birds are "show quality" when they are certainly...
Thanks! She actually is able to see surprisingly well (for a Silkie...haha). I do have a few others, though, that are bit too fluffy and have a little trouble. I just have to keep an eye out for hawks when they free range because of the sight issue.
