This is their first night in the coop. I just hope it's safe enough. I'm going to look into the patch thing. No scraps around here, but its worth buying
I have a crack in the plastic maybe 3 ft from ground. Could any predator make entry there? I can't think of anything. I taped it, but don't know what good that is really. Thoughts? Thank you! :)
I took my 4 week old chicks out today. They seemed to like it for about ten min. Then they started sitting down... Beaks were open. We're they too hot? it was only 85 degrees. No shade though. I need to make them a shade spot. I had them on bare dirt with some random grassy spots.
I noticed today after keeping my hand in the brooder for awhile they stopped peeping and jumping all over the place. They stomp all over each other ... Drives me nuts.
Thank you! :) I'm gonna buy some for next time. The blood is dry so maybe that's what saved her. I need a chicken first aid kit for sure. I can't believe little chicks would hurt each other like that. They haven't attacked her yet... She made it through the night. Do u think things are ok then...
One of my 2 wk old chicks has a little peck wound to her face with a tiny spot of blood. Do I need to separate her so she isn't pecked to death?!? They're all together right now and doing ok. I'm suddenly over chickens tonight!
