    I have been having the same problem with frozen water and the last two winters I have tried a lot of things... I tried the cookie tin one and it didn't work but after I accidentally stepped on it and broke it one day I realized that a plastic bucket just won't work for it. I had also tried lamps...

    Water freeze

    I tried something simmalar to this with my chickens but i built a metal frame and put a bulb in it to put two waterers on. After it got below freezing for more than 3 or 4 days it wouldnt keep the water thawed. Then I added a second bulb and it still didnt work with longer periods of freezing...

    I have a flock of thirty layer chickens of varying breeds and i was wondering what the best food to give them would be.
