Why does she look like this?

Son of a…. 😒 THANKS! I’ll keep my new babies but they were all supposed to be Buffs! Besides looking different, are they personalities very different? Their eggs? Ugh! On to more research. Oh! Do the black ones look right for Barred Rocks?

Why does she look like this?

Hi all! One of my week old (roughly, bought not bred) looks different than all of the pictures I’ve seen of a Buff Orpington at this age. Is she actually a HE? Not really a Buff? Thanks for help!

Starting to get paranoid about using things like diatomaceous earth on my chickens :(

Thank you for this article. Sounds like food-grade is the way to go if you feel there is an infestation or a pet may have worms. Don’t use the other and still use PPE to not inhale it.

All 4 Divas are laying :-)

We only have 4 EEs that we got last May. Only one started laying before winter set in. Now all 4 are laying and I am so proud of them! We are getting 8 more chicks, 4 Buff Orpintons and 4 Barred Rock, in a couple of weeks. YAY! Super excited!!! I have officially become a crazy chicken lady 😂...

Grass nearly all gone, now what?

Doing half and half is a good idea or, since their run looks nice and big, just do the whole yard at once. I do suggest, however to put down clover instead of grass. It grows faster and chickens LOVE it. Plus, it’s better for the environment. I love it too. Here’s an article with pros and cons...
