    Why no washing/disinfecting eggs?

I've been trying to decide about washing / disinfecting hatching eggs. They are being shipped and I'll be incubating them in the house. I would like to think disinfecting is not necessary, but the fact that the hen doesn't disinfect with human-made chemicals isn't really satisfactory for me...

    Hello dear bird people

The Welsh harlequins are beautiful. They only matured as we started having freezing weather so no eggs yet, but I do enjoy them and I'll hatch out some more this year hopefully. The Saxonies are more friendly I think but also much bigger and eat a lot!

    Hello dear bird people

I'm joining up from beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada. I started with ducks last year (Welsh Harlequines & Saxonies) and in 2020 at last -- my first chickens. I'm getting ready to order hatching eggs and I'm pretty sure I want to start with Hedemoras. Looking forward to having this community...
