Welcome neighbor! I live in Crawfordville too. I raise lots of Cornish Cross meat birds, White Leghorns, just starting a flock of Jersey Giants and will have Bourbon Red turkeys in a couple of weeks. I am incubating the White Leghorn chicks now and will add the others when they start laying...
Out of 102, I have processed 39 so far. I will finish the rest tomorrow. They are just over 7 weeks and are averaging about 5 1/2 pounds, dressed without the giblets. They have consumed 34, 40 pound bags of feed. At $13.75, that's $467.50 plus $114 to buy the birds, $581.15 total cost. At...

I like to look at the overall cost because the consumption is much greater in later weeks. Lets say I planned to process all of them now. $2.61 feed cost + $1.10...
Well, it looks like I need to make a correction. Nutrena switched things up on me and I just figured it out yesterday. On my last batch of birds, I had 50 pound bags of feed. Nutrena has changed the line to 40 pound bags. As of tomorrow, I have been feeding this batch for 5 weeks. They have...
