I usually let my broodies stay were they "claimed" their nest for a few days, then I move them in the middle of the night when its dark into a new stop so they have no idea what's going on and when it's daylight they are relocated .worked well for me. Good luck .

Dumb question, do chick factorys sell mix breed chickens? They were bought from L&M ..so I am assuming they get their chicks from a hatchery ?
Oh thank god! My husband and I were worried because we just moved to town and bought a house with a beautiful little shed I turned into a coop and named them Pip and Pigpen.. They are our pets so the thought of rehoming either of them killed me.

The little one I know if an OEGB the bigger black chicken I am unsure of the breed (sold to by a feed store as a cuckoo Maran)
I am pretty sure they are both pullets, but I am getting antsy waiting to know since where I live I cannot have roosters..
