We raise cochin bantams in 4 pens. Pen 1: BBS. No eggs currently available as we are hatching this years out still from this pen as we get the least amount of eggs from it with way fewer birds.
2: mottled. A blue/split to chocolate and a Chocolate mottled roo over Chocolate mottled hens.

For the life of me I can't get my cochin bantams to put ANY meat on their breast bones. I have several different pens with different colors from different lines. They get 20% layer feed and booneworms and I sprout lentils. They get fresh clean water 2 times a day with it always available to them...
I have heard that the bobtail gene is basically recessive. I have 2 almost mature roos and a chocolate and chocolate splash hen. My mauve roo for them passed away and I can't find a mauve or chocolate splash roo. I was wondering if I would get chocolate and chocolate splash from the pairings???
I have gold laced chocolate orpingtons. I'm pretty sure a pair. I was wondering how the genes work if bred with mauve with no lacing or barring? Or other chocolates. Thanks in advance
