    It's either my australorp that's over a year old or its one of the new ones who just started laying. Curious to crack the monster open!

    One of our hens, I'm thinking one of the australorps, put out a gigantic egg today. I've never seen a chicken egg this large or this heavy. Is this a sign that one of my hens is ill? Is it normal to lay an egg of this size?

    Yes I believe they have finished molting. No eggs right now due to the weather/daylight change.

    Yes quite a bit of pus. She's acting normal (again I'm assuming it's my skinny americauna), but I seperated her and gave her an antibiotic (Tylan powder--all I have until I can get to the vet)

    So this seems to be bad news for the hen. I have one bird who has been losing feathers, I thought molting but she has gotten quite thin. I wonder if it's her. Darn!

    Our birds have not laid in the last month, but we found this in the coop today. Nobody has been acting strange or egg bound. [/IMG]

    I'm not seeing saddle feathers like other roosters I've had, but this is my first andelusian
