She may be brooding. Many hens pluck chest feathers to be closer to the eggs they want to hatch. I would search for brooding threads on her to see if it sounds like what she is doing. :)
I’ve taken chickens, ducks, geese, and of course my dogs and cats. Not all at once lol! But in general, peaople there are animal lovers. My birds get even more lovin than the mammals there because most city dwellers haven’t seen them in person.
I’m fairly certain that parrots, being predators, would kill the chickens. My parents keep both in side by side enclosures in the summer. Then they bring the parrots inside for the winter. You can see some videos of the enclosures here.
We have a black Silkie Roo we are trying to breed with two Ayam Cemani hens. I would love to have truly melanistic silkies. But maybe I’ll just get broodie Cemani hens. We’ll see lol.
