    New chicks with pasty butt

    Have the chick sit in your hand with its butt on a warm wet paper towel to help soften it. We had to do this and I had to gentley rub it between my fingers in order to break it up. We also added a sprinkling of chick grit over their food every day when they were 4 days old and this really helped...
