Thank you. And I finally caught the crow in action just a bit ago after I started this thread. The barred/copper sexlink was the culprit as identified by all of you.
Also with the ones I think are the color pack's (brown), the one with the more pronounced comb has a tiny start to spurs, while the other one doesn't. Does that matter? The two that I think are easter eggers also have a little tiny spurs and the dom copper rooster has a little bigger spurs.
Thanks for the info! So it probably is a dominant copper and the guy at the store should have been able to tell as a brand new chick. Dang. As for the others, --not seeing the signs of the saddle feathers yet. I need a more trained eye! I think the browner ones are the color packs, and the...

Seems pretty docile so far. May be a keeper! I guess I was getting at what specifically about the picture gave away that he is a cockerel? Doesn't seem to have the tailfeathers yet, and some of the others had the comb and wattles. Besides that he is bigger than the rest, and definitely was...
Thanks for the quick responses!! How can you tell so quickly, and that the others aren't? I appreciate the knowledge moving forward. I have 4 mature chickens also between 2 and 7 years old so, if the rest of my chicks are really hens, would it be a good thing to keep a rooster?
I am raising 5 new chicks this year-got them on May 6th, ‘22. So, 3 1/2 months old or so. 2 Easter eggers, 2 color packs, and supposedly one dominant copper, although it looks like a barred rock now. We hear a faint crow in the morning but haven’t been able to catch it in action. Which one could...
