I truly have no idea what I would even need to do to eat them. Do we separate and feed special food or just do it. No one around here wants roosters they all want hens.
they are big and beautiful. comb and wattles deep red. We have had a cold snap and I am surprised they are so good. My husband wants to eat them but we don't normally do that. We have dual purpose birds but we only do eggs.

Update on Tom the scab/ hard black area came off that he was constantly scratching. He actually scratched it off himself and his eye is still there!!! It is red and swollen, but he is constantly scratching still that it is starting to get all dark and hard again...any suggestions or thoughts on...
My husband thinks its an empty socket. Hes missing part of his cushion as well. But the black hard callus is what we think hes scratching because its healing under it maybe.
My rooster was in a fight with weasel 2 weeks ago his eye is no better. Attached is a picture. He is eating and drinking. But not really walking much very unsteady. Can i put him back with hens? Its his far vision eye. I also have another rooster i have tried soaks, abx ointment, eye gel.
