    I made the boxes. Ill try to get some pics. I build houses for a living so I picked up alot scrap lumber etc...... Ive got around 20 bucks invested in the 4 hole box. I made the bottom so that I can pull it out and keep it clean. The plus to this is the eggs are very clean

    Quick update !!! Best I can tell at this point, LOL easy to lose count There's around 110-120 babies. Moved most of them to the booder box. All doing well. I lost 4 in the shell so far. Still more pips too.

    Been a busy day, I have around 50 chicks out right now with alot more pips !! Looks like Ill but up and down all night As soon as I move them to the brooder Ill post some pics.

    UPDATE, Ive got 5 chicks out and lost one in the shell so far. Lots of pipped eggs now. I think Im going to lose several eggs due to my storage time before incubation getting too cold

    Hearing some peeping Got 3 pips. I just hope I have a good hatch, My eggs got alittle cool when I was saving them up for incubating. The Americanas are scheduled for Sunday.

    If they all hatch Im in trouble , My mother expressed she would like to have some. Ive got a bad feeling about the first eggs I saved. It got alittle cool in my storage area.

    Just set off 165 eggs in my bator, 10 are Americana for a friend of mine the rest are Barred Rock and New Hampshire Reds. My wife is ready to kill me She said we've already got enough chickens

    Thanks for the quick replies. Ive ordered some wooden eggs and am going to build some roll out next boxes. Ive feed them oyster shells in the past but looks like I need to get back to that as well. Im feeding 16% layer ration as of now. Have a great day !!

    Ive noticed that my egg production was very very low. I have found out why. Ive caught the hens eating the eggs. What is the best solution. I really dont want to cull the entire flock and start over. Will a roll out next box be enough ? Thanks in advance !!!
