Goodness! I thought my horse was expensive, but he only cost me two bags of grain per month for most of the year. What eats me up is the hay for the other 4 months.
Can I ask? What do you do with all those chickens? Eggs? Meat? Just a hobby?
This is awesome! I am getting two baby goats on October 2nd and was trying to decide how to build their enclosure. Hope you don't mind, but I am borrowing your plan. It is inexpensive and looks good, just my cup of tea.
Great job everyone! I am currently framing the interior walls on my house. My husband and I bought a farm with a house that was started, but not finished. Just four walls and a roof! When I finish this I will be starting on my coop. I hope to have it finished and ready by spring.

Wild Wonderful West Virginia... I love the mountains and the seasons! Wouldn't live anywhere else.
Dislikes...Right now we live in Clendenin, my horse lives in Alum Creek, and my farm is in Cottageville.
Soon to be like...In November we will all be in one place (Cottageville) and I can really...
I used homemade detergent for a while. It did a fine job on the clothes, but I noticed that it left a residue inside my washer. I have gone back to Gain powder. I don't use liquid soaps because of the plastic containers it comes in.
Make friends with a responsible teenager in the neighborhood. His family can use the eggs and he can use the money. Always works for me, regardless of the critters that need sitting.
We used to let the chickens peck the sticky briars off our pants legs when we were kids.
Love the comment about the hubby. Not so sure my DH thought it was as funny as I did.
