    Double check, infertile eggs right?

Hello See attached pic. Im not actually sure how old Ursula is, I got her at an auction about 10 months ago. She seems older and also maybe doesn't lay anymore, haven't seen her in the nest box.

    Double check, infertile eggs right?

Hi there I'm pretty sure my hen is a hen, but is acting like a roo. But just to double check, these eggs are not fertilised right? They are infertile? Cheers!! Letisha

Crowing hen- advice needed on options

Hello I have a 10-11 month old Faverolles 'Tiramisu' and she crows! But it needs to stop/reduce as we live in urban area. Pretty sure its because there is no rooster. She is also the biggest in the flock, as the 5 other hen's are a mix of barbu d'uccle and pekin bantam. She seems to mostly crow...

    Faverolles possible ear fungi?

Interesting! Thanks for the reply. Looking at some of the other pictures on this channel I think my other Pekins might have something on their combs anyway. But that's good to know for now! Cheers

    Faverolles possible ear fungi?

Hello, I have a beautiful salmon faverolles, 7mo, called Tiramisu. I noticed recently that she has funny light coloured comb/ears(both sides). I wondered if it could be a fungal thing? She also shakes her head abit, like maybe it's irritating? But has been doing that for a while now...

Bringing white rock into a majority bantam flock (+faverolle)

Interesting! Do you think it makes a difference if the white rocks are introduced young into the flock?

Bringing white rock into a majority bantam flock (+faverolle)

Hi there, I have a flock of 6, 5 bantams (mix of Pekin and D'Uccle) plus 1 faverolles. I wouldn't mind a couple bigger chooks and the possibility of getting some white rock pullets has come up. I've read they are a docile breed. Keen to hear peoples thoughts on mixing these ones.? Nb-...

    Bird flu H5N1 in Australia

Hi there, I live in New Zealand and everyone is starting to talk about the inevitably of us getting the H5N1 bird flu virus from Australia (we are close to Aussie and Australia is like our giant Canary so to speak). But all our local chicken Facebook pages are full of unhelpful conspiracies...

Very lethargic young rooster, possible sour crop?

Hmm ok, the others are fine and all share the same nest box space. But I will clear it out just to be sure.

Very lethargic young rooster, possible sour crop?

@Tonyroo It has been very warm, 26 deg C+ for a number of days, but not too humid. We live in a slightly elevated area so only humid after rain. Are you thinking heat stress?
