Oh I have found out just now that it is also to stop the membrane under the shell from getting too leathery during hatching and preventing them from being able to zip easily... so I’m not an expert at this yet, but
I hope i helped:thumbsup
All above posts are so accurate! Ducks are very slow hatchers, so be ready to wait! Try to keep a thermometer in there too, like someone said earlier and try to keep the temp at around 37/38 degrees Celsius... also they need quite a humid environment so every day (or whenever) try to just dip...
I’ve also researched that you can only tell once they are almost fully grown... try to see if they have a raspy quack(male) or a loud clear quack(female) when they grow up:thumbsup best of luck to you!
Thank you all for the advice, they are actually quite strong and they are getting the hang of it! I sit with them around my neck and they love cuddling up to me
Thanks so much everyone, much appreciated
hi I’m new here but was wondering how I can get my day old pekin ducklings to follow me... I have four of them and they follow me every now and then but I can’t get them to do it all the time
