    Chicken Hawk SwoopsDown On Chickens

You can legally kill them if they are killing off your livestock. That goes for nearly any animail -bear, coyote, bobcat, etc. I had a bear come a few years ago that killed over 20 of my chickens. We called the game commision and they came and took care of the bear and told us that in...

    poultry sale in ohio?????????????????

I've been to the Mt. Hope auction. Every Wed. they have a flea market, livestock, and baked goods auction. Poultry and bunnies auction off at 1 pm. They always have alot of chickens and rabbits. Especially rabbits. Auction prices don't go too high either, so you'll definelty get some good deals.

What could be taking eggs from under broody hens

Thank you for all the replies. Moving the hens up another row worked for one of the two girls. She has hatched 4 chicks over the weekend. However, my other hen was too stuborn to move her nest. She kept going back to the lowest row and laying in her origional box. She is down to two eggs and no...

What could be taking eggs from under broody hens

The hen laying on the eggs or other hens? Hmmm.... I never would have thought they would be ballsy enough to take them out from underneath another hen. Or to eat partially developed ones as well.

What could be taking eggs from under broody hens

I have two hens that have been laying on fertile eggs for a little over 2 weeks now. In the past week, something has been sneaking in and taking eggs right out from underneath the girls. The only evidence left was two eggshells intact with about a two inch hole with everything sucked out. I put...

    Strange Looking Chicken

Beautiful kitty! I bet she is part siamese. I adopted a cat with the same build and eye color ( he was all white). The laady at the shelter said he was part siamese because siamese are the only cats with blue eyes. What do you know! We have exotic cats!

Ha, I have 25 nest boxes and wouldn't you know that my girls only use about 5 of them.

Coming Home Story and Pics of new chicks (MM's meat and egg combo)

Don't worry about being kept awake at night. No crowing at night. Chickens go to sleep at night too. They'll hold off until dawn to start crowing again.

    I need help.

I've raised turkeys for as long as I've raised chickens and aven't had an problems at all. I've even had to stick chicken eggs under a Royal Palm hen who didn't have any fertile eggs.

Hens laying egg but no rooster around

Just like the eggs you buy at the grocery store, your hen's eggs are not fertile. Now that she's laying eggs, you won't have to buy any from that darn grocery store.

    Free Rangers

Almost all of mine lay in the egg boxes. However, I did have a hen go awol for about 3 weeks until my neighbor told me she was laying on some eggs in his fishing boat. She ended up hatching 7 boat babies.

    sitting chicken

Ditto. Fertile eggs would be the best bet because she might not adopt a chick.
