What is this lump on my rooster's back?

It's hard to compare it from the angle I was getting yesterday. I can't tell if it's bigger. But I think that discoloration is getting worse. But I also may have just not seen it all yesterday? I'm not sure! >.<

What is this lump on my rooster's back?

Thanks! Aside from cutting into it, is there anything else I can do for him to help him along with his immune system fighting it?

What is this lump on my rooster's back?

It felt pretty hard and warm. It was difficult to get a good feel of it though while trying to hold him, but it didn't seem squishy or anything to me.

What is this lump on my rooster's back?

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on it for a couple days and see and then figure out how to proceed. I've never done anything surgical before, so that concerns me!

What is this lump on my rooster's back?

Sorry, I uploaded the close-ups to see it better, haha. It's up higher on his back, up by the wing!

What is this lump on my rooster's back?

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could advise me on this large lump I just noticed on my rooster's back. It's hard and warm. I'm not sure how long it's been there. A photo I happened to take of him yesterday, I can see it was there then, too. And if anyone knows what I can do to help him, please...

    Is My Duck Egg Bound??

My duck is egg bound again. I think she just has a chronic condition that she may have been born with (born blind in one eye, too) that causes her problems. Last time I took her to the vet. This time I can see the tip of the egg peeking through her cloaca though. We put her in a warm bath and...

    Is My Duck Egg Bound??

Update: She definitely is egg bound. I can feel the egg inside her vent, and I've given her a little calcium gluconate and warm baths. I'm afraid to try massaging or pulling it out and accidentally break it in her.

    Is My Duck Egg Bound??

This is the same duck I posted about before, who got really tired from laying eggs. She laid four of them and felt better over time and hasn't laid again in several days (lost track). But she's been tired again and keeps swishing her butt trying to poop something out, and it's just leaking...

    Swollen Eye

Hello! One of my Golden Comets has a swollen left eye. I noticed some of her right wing feathers have been missing for a while, too. I thought she was just molting, but now I wonder if it has anything to do with her eye. (And not sure if it's related, but our rooster has been missing chest...

    Thoughts on Roosters??

We accidentally got one when we got our dozen as chicks (first time we'd ever had any sort of farm animals). He hasn't been able to prevent a fox from grabbing a couple, but he certainly has tried. His whole back end of feathers were ripped out one time, and I had to help him recover for like a...

Duck Tired After Laying First Egg This Year (Second Egg Ever)

Also, just to update! I did find a broken bottom half of an egg shell in her pen yesterday. I'm guessing the chickens got to it because they will eat any broken eggs. But I noticed her shell was very flimsy and bendable (so probably broke easily if it wasn't already broken when laid?). So I'm...

Duck Tired After Laying First Egg This Year (Second Egg Ever)

How long does the open calcium gluconate last in the fridge? I know it has that rubber top thing, so I wasn't sure if it helps it last longer, haha.

Duck Tired After Laying First Egg This Year (Second Egg Ever)

Oh, also, we've had calcium gluconate in the past. But once it's opened, I think it only lasted for so long? (But it's such a big bottle that won't get all used.) Do you have recommendations on how to store it? Like if you just buy multiple bottles or storing it somehow to make it last longer?

Duck Tired After Laying First Egg This Year (Second Egg Ever)

Is this the right product? https://www.amazon.com/Rooster-Booster-Poultry-Cell-16-Ounce/dp/B007NS0DWW It always seems like we have some things in stock as we learn more from BYC, but there's always new items that I didn't know about before, haha. The vets aren't close at all (2.5 hours away)...
