If you let them free range all the time you will lose some chickens to predators. having said that you will still want a run to put them in on some occasions. by letting them free range some and putting them in there run some there run won't be such a mess... good luck
Your coop looks great.. but I would not use rubber mats in the coop, you'll have to clean them to often. I would go with sand in your run, it will drain good on top of the bricks... and very easy to clean... good luck.

Hi Deb, thanks for the kind words and yes a 4x8 feed and storage with auto feeder built in the storage wall with fill door on storage side... still a lot of work to finish it, I can only work on it on the weekends
