    Wet stinky run....

I use the fine pine shavings from TSC..it works really well and I just pile mine up in the center of my run and let the girls do the rest. It gives them something to do and they seem to really enjoy scratching around in the middle of the pile.

Chicken repeatedly scraping beak on stone patio?

These birds use rough branches or even rocks and swipe their beaks across them as a person might use a stone to sharpen a knife or other blade. This action keeps the beak “honed” for use and helps prevent overgrowth.

    Is separating roosters necessary?

Mine scuffle and act “bad” with each other but I can tell that the older they get, the less often they do this. Mine only free range in the afternoon while I’m home because of “ neighborhood dogs” that's owners don’t care if they come or go.. but that’s a different story..☺️

    Is separating roosters necessary?

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how things go! I have another coop that I can use if needed just really hated to separate them unless absolutely necessary. Thanks for your response.

    Is separating roosters necessary?

Yes I’m sure that we’ll be increasing our flock but it makes me feel better knowing we can keep all of them together.

    Is separating roosters necessary?

I’m new to raising chickens! We bought 4 baby chicks at TSC that we’re suppose to be pullets. They are now 15 weeks and appears that we ended up with 2 hens and 2 roo’s. My question is this, is it necessary to separate the roo’s?..we are very attached already and don’t want to get rid of one of...
