Sounds like a great plan! Chicken math... LOL I'm just learning what that is and experiencing it first hand! ;) Katie's going to love her chickens and it's so great you can carry on the family tradition of collecting eggs. I agree that it's a chore that I've never minded doing! :)
Thanks :) I wanted my coop to be a fun color. Here's my blog post about the chicken coop transformation (or the outside, at least). We gog lucky and the coop was already on the property when we bought the house. It's a converted shed. It needed a little repair and new fencing but having it...
Hello everyone, I'm a relative newbie in Winston Salem. We had chickens when I was a teenager but I swore I'd NEVER have farm animals or live in the country. So much for that... I now live in the country, have 2 1/2 acres, a huge garden, and 39 chicks with more on the way this week!

Hi, I'm a new member but have been reading older forum posts for a few months to get ready to bring home chicks. 47 chicks arrived from McMurray at the end of May. We're all in love! We have 39 babies left and since we lost more then we'd hoped, we have 25 more babies coming next week...
