I put down my Wyandotte today with the curled foot because I'm sure my hens problem was Marek's related since she last all control over both legs over the past two days, was barely able to walk and had trouble balancing. I only have one remaining hen from the 4 I bought from Chickens Galore in...
The last time this happened to my hen it took her about 3 weeks to recover completely but in 2 weeks she was a lot better. At that time I did not know what was wrong with her so I did the ACV and fresh garlic in the water treatment which seemed to work. Now that I know it may be a vitamin B...
How long should I give my chicken with the curled foot to get better? The directions say to give the supplement for 5 days in a row. Its been 4 days now and I am not seeing much improvement. I don't want to cull her but I hate to see her suffer.
I'm not sure what vitamins to recommend since I'm new to raising chickens too but I did ask Eggcessive the same question so maybe he will respond to us?
Thank you! I checked the label of my, "Poultry Cell" water soluble vitamins and sure enough it does not list B2 in the ingredients only B12 so I'm going to go out and buy some today. Can you recommend a brand?
I have a flock of 7 different varieties and my Buff Orpington, Pecky is by far my favorite. She has so much personality and is a really funny friendly bird that lays the biggest eggs I have ever seen. She is also very consistent in her egg laying and I average 6 eggs a week many with double...
I only have one Brahma so take this review for what it's worth because it's hard to make an accurate assessment of the breed based on one hen. My eight month old hen is extremely broody and its been very difficult to break her of it. We haven't tried the cage isolation method because we just...
My chicken has a similar issue and this is the second time it has happened in a few months. My 8 month old Wyandotte got so bad that she could barely walk but I gave her water with ACV and fresh sliced garlic for a few weeks and she seemed to have snapped out of it. I know my flock was exposed...
These are pampered chickens so there's not a lot of stress but these 2 birds were added to my flock of 4 a few months ago so I guess there good be a little pecking order stress? Wow, a year is a long time to wait but I guess I will be patient. Thanks for your help!
I have a black Australorpe that I got as a chick in early January of this year and she still has not started laying. I bought a Buff Orpington at the same time and that chicken has been laying non-stop for at least a month now. My Australorpe is approximately 7+ months old now and is showing no...
My EE is now 6 months old and is not laying yet. Her comb is not fully developed and she has no red on her face yet so I guess I will have wait a little longer? Does anyone know if an EE has taken longer than 7 months to lay?
