    i would not recommend trying at all if you already have a rooster. if you had more hens it might work, but i think that they would probably just fight.

    Snakes will not normally attack grown birds, but they can be a danger to eggs and chicks. i don't know about preventative measures but if you collect your eggs often it should not be a problem. what kind of snake was it? :barnie

    Well, this is my two cents anyway: Make sure they are not on cedar shavings (it hurts respiratory systems) and as @Sofia Salazar said, use oregano oil. Hope it works out.

    You should quarantine to make sure you are not spreading disease, and then yes, keep them in the coop behind wire. A week of seeing-but-not-touching should do the trick.

    Thank You, next time i will brood one at a time. If it happens again, i will stop letting them brood.

    I have two broody Buff Brahma Bantams and they are killing their own chicks. Is this a result of them fighting over the eggs or are they just terrible mothers?
