Ways to reduce heat in brooder?

The temp was too high. I was able to get a lower wattage bulb and they are now pretty evenly spaced out and moving well. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Ways to reduce heat in brooder?

Hello all, I've got 7 new chicks that I moved to their brooder a couple hours ago. After a few minutes, they were all clustered in one corner. I thought it was because the lamp I have was too hot for them, so I raised it a little bit. This continued a few times and now they are still pretty...

    LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I'm the same issue. Lockdown started last night and my humidity is great, but my temps vary from 98.0 to 101.5 depending on where in the incubator

Abnormal air sac from high humidity - please help.

That's true, didn't think about that. Thanks for the info.

Abnormal air sac from high humidity - please help.

Yeah, I figured it's be a little late. I'll try and keep it low. Thanks for the help.

Abnormal air sac from high humidity - please help.

Hello hatchers, I am currently on day 16 with a batch of chicken eggs. I candled last night and saw good development and movement in most, but almost every single one had a very small, nonexistent, or abnormally placed air sac. They were shipped, but I let them sit for about 36 hours before...

    What lockdown?

Check for movement with candling and look closely for any pips. Place them in and try your hardest to not move or touch them. (I know it's hard.) It could be fine, especially if your temps were a little low and they developed slower than normal. Good luck!

Incubator Temp Fluxuation After Adding Eggs

I figured it would, but I am a little worried about the eggs that are at 103°. I know lower temps will likely just extend incubation time, but I don't want to fry the eggs day 1.

Incubator Temp Fluxuation After Adding Eggs

Yep. The fan is running as it should and it's held a good temp for a while before I added the eggs.

Incubator Temp Fluxuation After Adding Eggs

Hello all, I have a Farm Innovators 4250 styro incubator. It's worked great twice now and I like it. I started a batch of eggs today and the temperature started fluctuating like crazy. I've had it on for about 5 days now, and the biggest difference I've seen is about 1.5° F in opposite corners...

    Incubator Movements

It's a Farm Innovators 4150 Pro Series. I recently got it used, so it might just need more break-in time. Thanks for the advice though.

    Incubator Movements

It's not so much that it won't, so much as it's really inconvenient, as people and pets are around it a lot, and I don't want us to disturb them, or them to disturb the others in my family, especially if they hatch at night.

    Incubator Movements

Hello All, I have discovered that the best spot in my house temperature and humidity-wise for incubating won't work out very well for hatching. Would it be okay to move the entire incubator at the same time I take the eggs out of the turner in preparation for the lockdown? I am the most...
