Hello all! I am looking for a new incubator to use for dry hatching or a fairly hands off regular hatching.
In the past I had a Farm Innovators Still Air that did wonders for me but I sold it when I got out of chickens several years ago and now I'm restarting.
Last year I picked up a circulated...
Izzy looks a lot like a Phoenix/Olive Egger mix that I had. She had that same coloring with the dark flecks and everything. I did hatch a couple of her eggs that were from a splash Orpington rooster and I think most of them looked like that too. The others ended up blue. Very confusing little...
Oh my goodness, they are so cute! I'm getting chick fever over here, I don't currently have any birds that I can hatch from and I won't be getting any locally. I love chicks :love but hatching is so fun too and I'm worried about how shipped eggs would do.
Hedemora are so pretty! Those have been on my list for a long time, I think they would thrive in the winter over here but during the summer they'd probably need a fan and extra care. That's the only thing keeping me from getting some
I don't believe they are hard to mix, I think the...
They are all pretty but I'm partial to my boys because they are all so unique and the girls I hatched since they still carry some traits that I loved.
I will own silkied Ameraucanas one day! They are just incredibly expensive but that's my taste in birds for you :D I found that some are trying...
I have a big mix! lol
I've got 3 wheaten/blue ameraucanas, two are rooster though and I'm not terribly fond of them so they have an ad up, their sister on the other hand is gorgeous :love A pretty splash with a bit of red/gold leakage.
1 wheaten ameraucana cockerel(who will probably be paired...
The dark dorkings are gorgeous! :drool
I just love silver birds, I feel like they are so pretty <3 I moved a couple months ago and had to sell all my adults then lost a lot of my chicks to stress :( So I've been going back and forth on keeping the ones I have but then I see pictures of...
I know this might not be the best place to look but do any of you guys know of someone working with chocolate Ameraucanas?(I know it's not an accepted color) I've got a bunch of Ameraucana chicks and was thinking it might be nice to mess with another color and improve said color.
Also does...
So one of my hatches just went into lockdown last night and this time I decided to change it up and use cartons (instead of laying them on their side like normal). But one of the cartons has gotten soaked because one of the paper towels in the water wells expanded and is touching the cartons...
I've been thinking it worked like blue(Andalusian) as a black diluter but I've been seeing things where it actually works with white instead? I'm so confused right now.
that hold 42+ eggs, have a good thermometer(or what is a thermometer you use that works?), turners that function properly and of any price range.
I'm really wanting to get some eggs shipped in this year but my styrobator doesn't seem ideal for the task.
One is a Mallard, two were supposed to be Golden Cascades but I think I only grabbed one and then three(or two, who knows anymore?) are Welsh Harlequins. The new ones are like twice the size of my Mallard
Yes I have some shavings for them.
That sounds cute <3 I ended up with one and now have five so I think that would be fun to watch.
I have them on non medicated chick feed, I don't do medicated feed at my house.
I think they are all at least a week old.
