We were feeding them unmedicated chicken stared crumble until someone suggested a feed for laying ducks. We switched over to that and shortly after was when i started noticing the bowed leg.
About three weeks ago i purchased 6 pekin ducklings from TSC. I recently noticed one of the ducklings (waddles) was having trouble walking, which later led to me discovery his bowed leg. It looks horrible, and is often collapsing under him. Im so scraed for him and i dont know what to do! Hes...
We just returned from Tractor Supply and we came back with ducklings! We think they are pekin, but cant be positive.
Can anyone tell from these pictures?
ok, the same thing happened to me today. We ended up calling them and it turns out theyere hippe backto the hatchery, due to bad weather. I suggest you call them and see whats happened. Good luck!
Rouens would be an excellent choice for you! I recently purchased a couple, and they are amazng! They are very quiet, and will not fly. They als have the same colours as mallards do!
@Amiga what do you mean when you say ceramic? Im really new to raising ducklings, so im going the cheapest and most basic route. How many ducklings did you have in your brooder?
So im raising ducklings, but putting them into two groups with three ducklings each. For a brooder, im making a home-made one, using a large tub. My question: what wattage bulb do i need and will it melt the plastic??
Any advice would be geat :)
:laugh
Oh, thats another good idea! Hmm...since we only have under a month to do this, i think the treat idea might be easier, though training them is definetly something i want to do
