    Does anybody know what these are? I think the top is a mandarin & the bottom is a goldeneye? The mandarin has been around quite a bit recently but this is the first time I've seen the other.

    No couldn't find them anywhere. Which might not be a bad thing for the ducklings survival when they're born. Need to get some food & look after the ducklings as much as I can! What food do ducklings eat in particular?

    Well that was the original reason I joined this site to try and get that answered. I've posted a topic somewhere. They're usually born around spring arent they? So they should be due any time hopefully. I'm also presuming that's why our numbers have gone from around 25 ducks down to around 10...

    Yes that makes sense, looks like I'll have to try and locate some more ponds. They're quite often just sleeping in our front gardens despite there being cats on the estate

    Yes it's honestly great. I don't even mind them keeping me up by quacking through the night! Just using my once a say exercise to go out and look for them around the estate. Theres loads of woodland around us too so I'm just wondering where they might go to during the day!
