    Production Blue Variants?

Oh ok! So would that just mean that the "standard" Production Blues are Rhode Island Red rooster x Blue Australorp hen, and Yogurt and Ombre are the other way around? Would Spidey being black instead of blue cause the flecks instead of lacing on the hackles? But that still leaves the mystery of...

    Production Blue Variants?

Actually, the only one producing eggs the most is Spidey. 5 - 6 per week. Usually 6. Yogurt, however, does about 4 and Ombre is just starting up, so none from her this week. But, they don't compare to my RIR hen, Mango, who only takes like one, maybe two, days off a month :th. Ok cool, would...

    Production Blue Variants?

I forgot to mention that I do suspect Silkie and EE interference. As a chick, Spidey had a mulberry face(and still a little bit now) and earlobes, and had blue - yes bright blue, spots on her ear. I don't have any photos of that but I do have one of Yogurt when she was a chick, and she had green...

    Production Blue Variants?

Your welcome! Wow I actually didn't think of it like that lol. I once had two Australorps, named Twilight and Eclipse. Twilight came to have lighter brown eyes and Eclipse had eyes so dark they looked black. Very ironic indeed;).

    Production Blue Variants?

Hey Everyone! In April 2025 I got 6 chicks from TSC. Among them I got three Production Blues. However, none of these look like your traditional PB from, say, Hoover's Hatchery. One, named Ombre, even laid a white egg as her first egg, though after close to two weeks, they are now tan colored. I...

    The Egg Anomalies Thread

@FunClucks Just wondering, Does that mean silver is a recessive trait? Or is it just 50/50? I will say though, Her breast feathers are a bit like Blue Laced Red Wyandotte just the red is not so noticeable. Wow that is quite interesting! The unnamed PB is Spidey. I always wondered if Yogurt and...

    The Egg Anomalies Thread

Is there any genetic link between red leakage and silver leakage? Could it be possible if a mutation caused her to express both silver leakage AND paler eggs?

    The Egg Anomalies Thread

@2ndTink She did have a red face as a chick, and one of the black Production Blues does have a few barley noticeable copper feathers. I know I can't 100% rule out that she isn't a Production Blue since I got her at TSC ( the same TSC that had RIR labeled GLW). But, I must say the black ones are...

    The Egg Anomalies Thread

Hey Everyone! I thought it would be cool if there was a thread where we could share our strange eggs, and here it is! Meet Ombre: She is a Production Blue I got from TSC. Along with her, I got three RIRs and two other Production Blues who happen to be black(they had dark blue down as chicks)...
