Aw, Welsummers are pretty (or handsome, in your case) I have 7 chickens, I can't imagine dealing with 30! My profile pic is my Silkie, Lily.

30 is a lot, but they're straight-run, so the roosters will be dispatched to the freezer in a few months. We should be left with (a more manageable) 15 or so hens.

Cute chicks!! What breed?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, I just saw your message. The chick pictured is a Welsummer (cockerel, I'm pretty sure). It's my first year raising chicks, and I also have Black Copper Marans, Ameraucanas, Barred Hollands, Partridge Rocks, Speckled Sussex, and Black Ameraucanas--30 in total!

What breed is the chicken in your profile picture? My two-year-old is transfixed by its poufy hairdo...
