- I've had chickens for s year now. Before that I had guinea hens, but the neighbors complained to the city and we had to give them to a farm nearby. I loved them so because we, them and I came from South Africa. . So we wen't to chicken to mitigate our grass hopper population in our semidesert area. The chicken do well but not as well as guineas on that score. Anyway we now have 3 chickens and 4 chicks of different variety in a box in the bathtub. I find your site extremely helpful.
