Moving chicks outside with no heat light

I recently posted a similar thread about this and you might find some useful information there: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=476509 I've decided I am going to put mine out next week (6 1/2 weeks old). It should be in the low 40's at night, 60 during the day. I'll...

    Too cold?

Miss Turkey - sorry to hear you lost so many. How cold was it outside? There is no way I can keep them inside 20 weeks, so maybe I'll put my heat lamp out there with them. Just this last week I took the heat lamp away and they are in my basement where it is probably 60 degrees.

    Too cold?

I live in Utah. I will be putting the finishing touches on my new coop tomorrow and I'd like to move my chicks out there. Pop door on raised coops question

Debid, I was hoping if I put the door in the floor that I could just leave it open all the time instead of closing it every night. Elmo, do the chickens ever have trouble getting in the door?

Pop door on raised coops question

I am in the process of building a new raised coop. It is 2 feet off of the ground. I am thinking of putting my pop door on the floor with my ramp leading down from there. So I have a couple of question for people who have this configuration: 1. Can I leave it open 24/7, or will I have draft...
