Whether they are cockerels or pullets, they are gorgeous! My daughter would die over the colors 🥰 here's my white brahma at 2 months and then 5 months. Might be able to guess a lil better 😉
I had a hen become broody and she ended up collecting 12 eggs. When I discovered where she was and she was definitely broody, I did candling and we were going to have 10 babies. Well, yesterday they all decided to hatch. One of her eggs pipped but has not zipped or made any improvement since...
Thank you so much! She decided to be broody in an area that is high off the ground and I'm petrified that one of the babies is going to fall or be attacked by another one of our hens. We had this problem with the last egg and the culprit caused the baby to hatch way to early and we lost it.
Hello all!
It's me.. again. Lol. I have a two year old bantam hen that has been sitting on 7 eggs that are due to hatch on October 2nd. However, where she decided to be a broody momma is less than ideal for her new babes. We moved her into our isolation coop this morning and she has not went...
We put it under a heat lamp right now. No blood or anything like that when we found it. It did take some water so that's promising. It has moved around some so we're just keeping an eye on it right now to see what happens. Thank you for replying!
Hello,
This baby hatched sometime today. When we went out to check, the baby was out of the egg and laying in front of my hen. It has not opened its eyes and is still in the "smashed in a egg" position. It has not gotten up and is still breathing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
You have some pretty babies. Go to your local feed store and buy the medication for coccidiosis. Bloody poo is one of a major factor with that. You can mix it with their water and once you treat them for it, you shouldn't have to do it again. If I remember correctly, you can get in powder and...
Unfortunately, these things do happen. More than likely it was one of your hens. I have several roosters and only 2 that don't get along. When they fight, one of them and even sometimes both of them walk out looking like this. He was probably pestering one of your girls at the wrong time and she...
Hey y'all!
A couple of weeks ago i ordered some light brahma chicks. About a week ago i noticed one of them limping. The chick wouldn't let me do anything to it and I've read to just leave it alone and it'll heal on its own. Well this morning I've noticed it's swollen and i removed the chick...
I wanted to let you know she is fine. I got all that yucky crap from her crop and gave her some antibiotics and she's back to normal. Thank you for all your help!
