How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5/6 4 came from the Delaware's. We were really surprised too. They had a bad day yesterday. Someone got hurt, blood everywhere, but no real obvious injury until today. Injuries are easier to see in daylight. Glad we haven't had to separate anyone yet.

Thank you acemario. I will definitely try to weed through some youtube videos. I am excited to learn. It's a craft that was never passed down to me. Thanks for giving me a place to start.

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

My boyfriend has 4 Delaware hens, 1 pretty bantam rooster, 3 Americauna's (2 hens, 1 rooster). I collect the eggs, give daytime care, and put them all to bed at night as they live in 2 different tractors. I got 5 eggs today. Not a bad day. Wondering why 1 of the Americauna hens has quit laying...

    Crochet "Chat"

I am a 34 year old born again farmer, started when a was in the womb and ended with my parents separation when I was around 7. Knitting and crocheting, also sewing were apart of that time. I want to get back to these arts/crafts. I am a beginner, obviously. Anyone got any basic starting points?

    Murray Mcmurray!

To nj2wv: I have heard that Meyer is not a good hatchery to order from. I've got lots of friends that had the same issues. Glad you are having better luck with Murray McMurray.

    Murray Mcmurray!

Thanks for everyone's experience input regarding Murray McMurray. I am leaning heavily on ordering my Australorps and maybe a few buff colored somethings as well. And it looks like this 10 chicken operation has truly turned into at least 30, maybe more. Thank again!!!

    Hey ya'll

Thank you everyone for the inviting welcomes. I'm sure I will have many questions aside from the conversion to the raising of day old Australorp chicks. This is an exciting new endeavor for me. It's funny how something you had great fun doing as a child comes full circle to you as an adult...

    Hey ya'll

My name is Tiffany. I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I am in the process of converting a very old salt shed into a chicken coop. I am going to be raising Black Australorps. I like to garden and just be outside in the country.
